Frequently Asked Questions & Aftercare

Nails

Will gel polish damage my nails?
When applied & removed correctly, gels are completely safe to wear on an ongoing basis. They are in fact great for protecting the nail & promoting growth.
How often should I have my nails done?
Averagely every 2-3 weeks depending on reasons for having gel manicure (strength/growth/pleasure - or all!).
How many colours can I choose from?
Elsker Beauty has 740+ Gel Bottle colours to choose from so there is plenty of choice!
Gel Bottle Manicure Aftercare
If doing any cleaning/washing up wear gloves ■ Avoid prolonged time in water ■ Avoid using your nails as tools ■ Use cuticle oil
Why do you do water less pedicures?
Many salons are now choosing to do this due to it being cleaner & greener! Germs thrive in wet & warm environment plus no water means no filling of big water bowls = less water waste! Soaking also expands the nail which means that when your polished nails shrink, cracks can occur. The waterless approach prolongs the polish staying power!

Brows

I’d like to book a brow treatment, which one is best for me?
If you are a first timer and/or nervous of having your brows done - ‘Brow Wax’ or ‘Brow Wax & Tint’
If you like a more defined brow look and/or have sparse brows - ‘Brow By Mii’
If you like the brushed up, naturally fluffy brow look, would love fuller brows and/or wish to tame unruly brow hairs - ‘HD BrowSculpt’
How often should I have my brows done?
Averagely every 4-5 weeks depending on how hairy you are! HD BrowSculpt can be done every 8-9 weeks.
I am fair & nervous if I have a tint they will be too dark
I am also fair so I completely understand & relate! Whenever I have a new client for tinting, particularly if you are fair, I tint one brow at a time in 30 second bursts until we reach the desired colour - we can then make note of that timing for the next appointment!
Brow By Mii Aftercare
Maintain shape (if desired) with brow pencil or powder ■ Avoid oily make up removers ■ Avoid applying thick/oily creams to the area
HD BrowSculpt Aftercare & Advice
For the first 24 hours it is crucial that you avoid getting the brow area wet, as well as excessive rubbing or touching ■ Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms & swimming pools for 48 hours ■ Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint ■ Use your ‘HD Tint Lock Serum’ twice daily (included in your first treatment).
How do I keep my brows in shape after lamination (BrowSculpt)?
Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks. To really enhance laminated brows & maintain that freshly laminated look right up to your next appointment, an ultra-strong eyebrow gel like Brow Glue is a must have - available at Elsker Beauty!

Lashes

I have quite sparse lashes, is it worth having LVL?
It is quite common to think you don’t have a lot of lashes when in fact they are just quite straight therefore give the illusion that there isn’t much there, try looking at them from a different angle - for example take a photo of yourself looking down. If you do have sparse lashes or concerned about their condition prior to LVL - book in for a patch test, we can have a chat & see what is best!
I love LVL! How often can I have them done?
The lift itself lasts 6-8 weeks, the tint around 4 weeks which is why I like to include a top up tint 4 weeks after the initial treatment. If you wish to have your lashes lifted regularly I recommend to book in every 9-10 weeks.
LVL Aftercare & Advice
Don’t get your lashes wet for the first 48 hours, avoid steam, saunas & swimming. It’s also worth avoiding the gym or heavy exercise for the first 24 hours ■ For tinted lashes, avoid strong sunlight or UV light for the first 24 hours. Four week top up tint included! ■ Try not to touch or rub your eye area, especially when washing or cleansing your face ■ Don’t use lash curlers, they can be harsh on your natural lashes. With LVL, you won’t need them anyway! ■ No oil-based make-up or remover.
